Stephen wrote the monthly Think Tank column in Plating & Surface finishing magazine for over 10 years. He authored two chapters in The Metal Finishing Guidebook & Directory, addressing general surface preparation and for specific metal alloys, in addition to acid pickling. A feature article on rinsing was written for Products Finishing Magazine. On the supplier side, Stephen was corporate Technical Service Manager. His product R&D lab and pilot work encompassed cleaning, plating, and post treatments. Additionally, his dedicated research work formulated product development of specialty cleaning processes, environmentally compliant stripping organic coatings, and effective mass finishing systems. Stephen has presented technical papers on his work.
Stephen is a plating school instructor. He can train your personnel on new process integration. With over 40 years of experience you are in great hands with Chem Analytic for all of your metal finishing needs. Chem Analytic also has access to the worlds largest plating library at our disposal that is up to date on modern techniques as well as old ones dating back decades.
He was past two term AESF Garden State branch president and is currently on the Board of Directors of MAMF. Stephen graduated with a chemistry degree from Rutgers University. He continued with graduate degree studies in chemistry. He achieved his CEF designation soon after entering the metal finishing industry.
The annual global cost of corrosion is $2.5 trillion, equivalent to 3.4% of the worldwide GDP. In the US, the annual cost of corrosion surged past $1 trillion, affecting our national GDP by 6.2%. Corrosion affects infrastructure, transportation, production & manufacturing, utilities, and the federal government.
Chemical based methods to control the detriments of corrosion include:
The metal finishing industry is dedicated to offset corrosion by monitoring and maintaining process baths and surface treatments at optimum conditions. A critical way of doing so is by routine and specialized analysis procedures. In this way important or key steps perform efficiently, providing finishes that meet or exceed expected service life of integral and finished parts.
Chem Analytic LLC responds to the requirements of customer chemical processes. Specific analysis procedures are implemented focusing on accuracy and precision with a typical response time within 24 hours of sample receipt. Troubleshooting, technical service, and recommendations are included encompassing attention to every detail.
As described, corrosion is a major reason for the existence of the metal finishing industry. Chem Analytic LLC partners with our customers to minimize corrosion, thereby contributing to a positive national GDP.
